Attention! The production, use, import and export of these 5 types of chemicals are prohibited
On June 6, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and other 11 departments jointly released the Announcement on Environmental Risk Management and Control Requirements for Five Types of Persistent organic pollutant, including Polychlorinated Naphthalene, which stipulates specific matters for limiting the control of five types of Persistent organic pollutant, and will take effect from June 6, 2023.
1、 The production, use, import and export of Hexachlorobutadiene, polychlorinated naphthalene, pentachlorophenol and their salts and esters are prohibited.
2、 The production, use, import and export of Decabromodiphenyl ether (except for the following purposes) are prohibited.
（1） Textile products that require flame retardant characteristics (excluding clothing and toys);
（2） Additives for plastic shells and components used in household heating appliances, irons, fans, and immersion heaters, including or in direct contact with electrical parts, or requiring compliance with flame retardant standards, with a density of less than 10% by weight of the parts;
（3） Polyurethane foam for building insulation;
The exemption period for the above three types of purposes expires on December 31, 2023.
3、 The production, use, import and export of short chain Chlorinated paraffins (except for the following purposes) are prohibited.
（1） Additives used in the production of conveyor belts in the natural and synthetic rubber industry;
（2） Spare parts for rubber conveyor belts used in the mining and forestry industries;
（3） Leather industry, especially for leather fatliquoring;
（4） Lubricant additives, especially for engines in automobiles, generators, and wind energy facilities, as well as oil and gas exploration drilling and refineries producing diesel;
（5） Outdoor decorative light tubes;
（6） Waterproof and flame retardant paint;
（7） Adhesive;
（8） Metal processing;
（9） The second plasticizer of flexible polyvinyl chloride (but not used for processing in toys and children's products);
The exemption period for the above nine types of purposes expires on December 31, 2023.
